Year of Mercy: ‘Divine Mercy in my Soul’

Anne continues by exploring the prayers of Saint Faustina on the healing Blood of Our Lord.

We know through the writings of Saint Faustina (canonised by St John Paul II in the Year 2000) in her diary ‘Divine Mercy in my Soul’ that Jesus wants us to know that the Blood and Water which gushed forth from His side on the Cross continues to be poured out upon us as a fount of mercy for us.

He wants us to call on that mercy all the days of our life.

In the ‘Three O’Clock Prayer’ given to Saint Faustina we read:

‘You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls

And an ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world.

O Fount of Life,

Unfathomable Divine Mercy,

Envelop the whole world and empty yourself out upon us…’

Thank you, Lord, for your great gifts to us:

Our Faith,

Your body and Blood in the Eucharist

And your gift of eternal Love and Mercy.
