8 September: Lauds

grow.wild (800x664)

a lark echoes morning prayer

meadow flowers sing

tousled green stems and leaves

toss and sway in time

moth-wings tremble, dragonflies

shimmer, hover, dart

breeze-born butterflies blow round
like confetti – and rise

bumble-bees’ drum rolls rumble

wild rose and clover

a thrush perches – chirrups climb –

and I – step softly in
