1 November: ‘Nothing is impossible with God.’

Saints, as I understand them, are not people who never made mistakes and had no character flaws.  They are people who let the light of God’s love shine through their flaws, their deficiencies and the messes in their lives, to such an extent that their lives became an inspiration to generations of men and women after them.  In the saints, struggling people like me can see what God can achieve in our imperfection if we say ‘yes’ to God’s power working in and through us.

The saints teach me to trust that, even in my life,

‘nothing is impossible with God.’

(Luke 1:37, cf Matthew 19:26)
