Follow Me!

Scripture References: Mark 1:16-20, Catching men; Mark 14:54, Peter following at a distance

So now there’s nothing for Peter to do.

Jesus, remember me, when you come into your Kingdom!

Nothing I can do now but watch; I can’t even get close to Jesus.

All I can see is the top of the Cross above the crowd, moving slowly up the hill.

Oh! I’ve lost him! He’s tripped and fallen. But they’ll make him get up and go on.

He told me to follow him – you will catch men, he said. Well, I follow at a distance, but nobody wants to know me now. No-one will listen to me, no-one will let me through.

Let us remember people who are out of sight, forgotten, full of sadness, as they carry their cross every day.

Jesus, remember me, when you come into your Kingdom!
