Universal Intention: – An Environmentally Sustainable Lifestyle
We pray that we all will make courageous choices for a simple and environmentally sustainable lifestyle, rejoicing in our young people who are resolutely committed to this.
Mrs T and I happened to be in Bruges on No-Car Day a few years ago; do any towns and cities in the UK ever give the event a try?
We saw many weird and wonderful bikes that day, this one included. But it was possible for pedestrians to wander in peace, not being intimidated by traffic. The air was no doubt cleaner, the place was cleaner – but that’s only one day a year.
Day by day there are little things we can try that may make our lives more sustainable. See our Lent ‘Tips’ posts from 18 February to 3 April this year for forty ideas from the United Benefice of St Dunstan, Mildred and Peter. Even trying a new shampoo can be a courageous act if you swear by the one you have used for years!
