We will write about coming events here. More details will usually be on the Franciscan International Study Centre website:
Sunday January 24th: Unity Week Service, Salvation Army, Canterbury.
The Community of the Franciscan International Study Centre are invited to the Unity Service at the Salvation Army on 24th January, at the Salvation Army at 4.30. We are sponsoring the Hymn ‘All Creatures of our God and King’ which resonates with the theme for this year and with the Franciscan heritage. The Salvation Army Citadel is very close to Greyfriars in town. Our participation could be a marker en route to the eighth centenary of Agnellus and his company’s arrival in Canterbury in 1224.
This year’s theme for Unity Week is from 1 Peter 2:9-10:
You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own people, in order that you may proclaim the mighty acts of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
